NHS Orca House

York

Client: Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

DLP Planning Ltd have provided highways and transportation planning support to the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust at several of their sites across York. This particular scheme related to a Change of Use application to convert an existing office on a business park to a new healthcare hub.

The healthcare hub provides a new community team base for York Children & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The hub provides both staff and clinical facilities.

The Outcome

In support of the initial planning application, DLP were responsible for preparing a Transport Statement and Travel Plan. Our work involved extensive liaison with the Local Highway Authority, and survey works to demonstrate to York City Council that the scheme would not create an unacceptable impact on car parking on the surrounding roads. We have now also been retained by the NHS Foundation Trust to provide ongoing Travel Plan monitoring support at several of their sites across York, to ensure that staff are aware of sustainable travel options available to them and identify any constraints which may prevent such options.
